Coventry crash victim was 'dedicated father', says family

A pedestrian who died when he was hit by a car was a "dedicated and loving father", his family said.

Karl Jones, 31, was hit by a Mercedes at about 21:15 GMT on on the A444 Phoenix Way, Coventry, on Thursday.

Emergency services attended but nothing could be done to save Mr Jones and he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

His family said his death would "leave a massive hole in our lives, but he will live on forever in our hearts".

The statement also described Mr Jones as a cherished son and loving brother.

Anyone with information about the incident has been urged to contact West Midland Police's Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
