Answers

1. It was the wrong wax. Head wax technician Knut Nystad said the team had been denied the most up-to-date waxing products, prompting a Swedish victory.
2. It was Mastercard. Journalists accused the firm's PR company of asking them to send prepared tweets as a condition of tickets to the awards ceremony. The hashtag was promptly hijacked on Twitter.
3. It was the fouling. The city wants to track down the owners of animals behind the mess.
4. It was the sword dance, with Prince Charles donning a dagger and bullet bandolier for the ceremony. The sword was adorned with gold.
5. It was art history. In a speech at a General Electric plant, Obama said people could earn more money in manufacturing than they would by studying the subject. He later said sorry and stressed he was making an off-the-cuff remark about the jobs market.
6. It was former Saturday Night Live star Jimmy Fallon. His debut was watched by 11.3m people.
7. It's three hours. The fire brigade says it is called out to too many incidents and believes that property owners should already have a plan to free people from lifts. It will now charge for callouts where there is no danger.
