1. It was stabbed 42 times in Belgium. Local people subsequently came together to protect it at night. The owners say it has been deflated in Hong Kong for maintenance work.
2. It's an alleged supermarket thief's midnight feast. Trevor Runyon is said to have been found sleeping off the meal in a ValuMarket in Kentucky, US. Following his release, former cabinet minister Chris Huhne had a full English breakfast at a motorway cafe, with artist Grayson Perry.
3. It's water. The water, more than a billion years old, pours out of boreholes in a copper and zinc mine under northern Ontario, Canada. Scientists are testing it for signs of life.
4. It's using Twitter. Sheikh Abdul-Latif al-Sheikh strongly criticised the rising number of users in the country.
5. It's rival Dr Who and Star Wars fans. They were spoken to by Norwich police after falling out at a sci-fi convention. A conservation group says it is worried about the traffic impact of a new Scientology centre in Birmingham. And Labour peer Lord Mitchell has fallen out with neighbours over a basement extension.
6. It's a Kentucky Fried Chicken family meal. A delivery firm has set up to take the meals through tunnels under the tightly controlled border. "Sometimes Hamas checks meals, sometimes the taxi picking up Sinai orders is late," a spokesman said.
7. It's Coca-Cola. The company, which traces the origins of the drink to a 19th century patent medicine, says its formula of natural ingredients is a closely-held trade secret, kept in a vault at its World of Coca-Cola museum in Atlanta.
